Stoney End

So many themes this summer, particularly on a cultural level.  It seemed EVERY movie or TV show we watched directly referenced DIRTY DANCING (seriously, it happened a dozen times, culminating in a tribute scene in CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE.)
Another was STONEY END — first the Barbra version, then a discussion by Seth Rudetsky, then a mention by Sandra Bernhard, and ultimately — on our last day in Naples — the realization that we did indeed survive two months of a cobble-stone repaving project.   There were even days when we had to park the car a 5 minute walk from the beach house.   And as the second to the last house in the cul-de-sac we were living NOT at a “Dead End” as the sign says, but in our minds, with all its magic STONEY END…
Also on this day:
Flight to Newark.  Stewardess falls in love with Belle and gives us drinks.
Great flight and painful rental car situation.
Spectacular Haircut at the Blind Barber –– all traces of LA are gone.
NYC Homecoming with the Amy & Harry.
Dinner at Le Singe Vert with Adrian to celebrate our return….
